The Way Forward

Our world is changing fast. Technology is transforming people’s choices, and the competition for attention and leisure time is fiercer than ever. Evolving family dynamics are affecting patterns of life, and society’s expectations around diversity and inclusivity are rightly changing. We cannot escape that our sport needs to change to ensure it is relevant now and fit for the future. COVID-19 has shone a light on those challenges, but also illuminated the huge opportunity we have. It has highlighted the value people place on their health, social connections, and local communities. It has shown us all that things can be done in a way that most never thought possible.

Bowls is as DOABLE a sport as one can play. Physically, financially and practically, there are no intrinsic reasons not to have a go.

• Playing bowls is a simple skill which takes a minute to learn, but a lifetime to master. Its MESMERIZING qualities capture imaginations and give people the time of their lives.

• Bowls is highly sociable, providing a level playing field across ages and genders. Competition amongst friends and family is authentic, and clubs feel like a home from home.

• Many, including older people and those with disabilities or health conditions, find bowls VITALIZING. It delivers real mental and physical health benefits and acts as an essential social lifeline.

Our club provides the opportunity to play in a competitive environment, especially for those who like a good-natured challenge. As a club rolling forward, we aim to continually grow our number of bowling members. More members means an even healthier, more vibrant club, which is able to deliver great experiences for our players. Happy playing experiences mean more people advocating bowls to non-bowlers. and more opportunities to inspire others to take part.
